Duties
You will work for the command's Safety Management Branch in support of the development, implementation, and administration of the safety and occupational health (SOH), emergency preparedness, fire prevention and radiological safety programs.
You will perform a variety of duties as directed in the implementation and operation of assigned programs.
You will draft command policy, conduct investigations in response to reported hazards in the workplace or incidents involving employee injury and property damage, report findings and make recommendations to the Safety Branch Head.
You will design and plan implementation of SOH requirements in the work environment; and consult, advise and collaborate with the command customers on safety matters to resolve problems and achieve desired objectives.
You will identify and apply the latest concepts and techniques to include researching and interpreting new or revised safety and occupational health legislation.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
FOR THE NT-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 (GS-09/10 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector coordinating, leading, or implementing a Safety and Occupational Health management program for a workplace in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, or procedures.
FOR THE NT-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-02 (GS-05/08 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing Safety and Occupational Health management program assistance to ensure workplace compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, or procedures.

FOR THE NT-04:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in safety or occupational health fields (safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene) or a degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study form among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology.

Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in safety or occupational health fields (safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene) or a degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study form among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology.

Successful completion of a LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree in safety or occupational health fields (safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene) or a degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study form among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology.

Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree in safety or occupational health fields (safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene) or a degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study form among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology.

Successful completion of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled.
