This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This is an Engineering Technician (Civil), GS-0802-10/11 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Northwestern Division (NWD), Omaha District, Engineering Division.
Duties
Manages the production, design and review of foundation report drill logs.
Develops design and contract drawings for layout, grading, earthwork, cross sections and detail drawings for airfield pavements and foundations, using guidance from appropriate manuals.
Responsible for scheduling work to meet design schedules and coordinating drawings with other disciplines.
Independently schedules and performs field investigations to locate construction materials.

GS-10 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1). Develop design drawings/details for civil works, military and fuels projects, and airfield pavements. AND 2). Schedule drilling/testing projects, laboratory testing, and other geotechnical tasks. AND 3). Verify the accuracy of geotechnical field and laboratory test results. AND 4). Perform field inspections of to locate construction materials. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
GS-11 Specialized Experience for In-service (current or Federal Employees): One year of specialized experience which includes 1). Develop and/or review design drawings/details for civil works, military and fuels projects, and airfield pavements. AND 2). Manage the production of foundation report logs. AND 3). Schedule geotechnical work to meet design schedules and budgets. AND 4). Independently perform field inspections to locate construction materials and support ongoing construction QA. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-9).
GS-11 Specialized Experience for outside applicants (non-Federal): One year of specialized experience which includes 1). Develop and/or review design drawings/details for civil works, military and fuels projects, and airfield pavements. AND 2). Manage the production of foundation report logs. AND 3). Schedule geotechnical work to meet design schedules and budgets. AND 4). Independently perform field inspections to locate construction materials and support ongoing construction QA. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
