About the Position: Incumbent serves as Section chief of FUDS requirements and stakeholder requirements on public and stakeholder inquiries on FUDS projects and properties.

Duties

Serves as the Section Chief in the Military/HTRW Branch. Assisting the Branch Chief by sharing fully in all phases of daily management of the organization. Participates with the Branch Chief in planning and administering activities of the Branch. Is delegated full authority by the Branch Chief to supervise and manage a staff of program and project managers, administrative and support team members. Reviews status and progress of projects, provides management guidance and direction, and provides advice and/or decision on policy matters. Provides project management oversight and direction to project managers in the development of study and Project Management Plans. Participates with functional Divisions in development of such plans, and resolves issues with functional elements to assure optimum product schedule, cost, scope, acquisition plan, budget, and quality. Verifies completeness and accuracy of FUDSMIS information.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
  • Due to the nature of the projects worked, a secret clearance may be required.
  • Must obtain and maintain possession of or ability to acquire a valid state driver's license.
  • This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing analysis for a Formerly Used Defense Site (FUDS) program, preforming project and program management business processes and leading a team to manage project milestones, scheduling, scoping, and budgeting of planning, design and construction of Military and/or Environmental. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: CommunicationsControl of FundsDatabase AdministrationLeadershipProject Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
