You will serve as a FIRE PROTECTION INSPECTOR in the Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services Branch of MARINE CORPS AIR GROUND COMBAT CTR.
Duties
You will identify, analyze, and determine the appropriate action necessary to correct hazardous conditions that may be difficult to recognize and where no specific requirement has been established.
You will review fire and life safety plans, specifications and product submittals for self help, renovations, remodels, and construction projects from concept to commissioning.
You will provide training both in house and to the Fire Department customer.
You will survey, inspect and functionality test fire suppression systems, fire alarm systems and portable fire extinguishers in accordance with applicable directives.

- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You must possess a current, valid certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) issued by the American Heart Association.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. See additional information section.
- you must possess a current HazMat First Responder Awareness - DoD Firefighter certification Program, California Specialized Training Institute, IFSAC or Pro Board. GS-04 positions will have 12 months to receive this certification.
- You must apply for, and achieve, a valid EMT License by the local Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) the Inland County Emergency Medical Association (ICEMA), With in 60 days if their appointment.

- GS-08 ONLY-Certified as a FIRE INSTRUCTOR II by the Department of Defense (DoD), International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or ProBoard.
Qualifications
GS-08
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-07 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector inspecting facilities and structures for fire hazards and fire protection deficiencies; performing functional tests on fire suppression system and fire alarms; and interpreting and enforcing fire codes, regulations, and directives.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-05 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector monitoring installed building systems (e.g. fire alarm systems and fire extinguishing equipment) are maintained and conducting fire and safety inspections.
