Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office Office of Facilities and Asset Management, Asset and Administrative Management Division/Administrative Services Program Management Office. Salary: Salary listed reflects the rest of U.S. scale and, if applicable, will be adjusted to meet the locality pay or cost of living expenses of the duty location upon selection.

Duties

Joining the Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Facilities and Asset Management, will allow you to use your expertise in printing and production to manage CBP printing operations, processes, and procurement. This position starts at a salary of $98,496.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $128,043.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $128,043.00 (GS-13 Step 10). In this Printing Services Specialist position, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals involved in planning, coordinating, and managing an agency-wide program providing CBP printing services and production. The work involves assessing and coordinating a wide range of different printing assignments. Typical work assignments include: Managing the production of a wide variety of printed products. Developing cost and time estimates for printing projects. Scheduling printing production to ensure cost effective, on-time completion. Inspecting printed material for quality and conformance with business partner specifications. Managing the service level agreements for printing services Term Appointment: To meet agency needs, this position will be filled under a time-limited appointment, not-to-exceed (NTE) 2 years, This is not a permanent appointment, and does not give competitive status. You will be separated when the NTE date of this appointment is reached.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as Managing the production of printed materials and publishing projects; Consulting with customers and vendors for job requirements analysis, which include: identifying timely, cost-effective approaches. Developing and coordinating approval of concept plans, and scheduling work to meet established timelines and budget requirements. Developing printing policies and procedures while applying relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and methods. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process by 12/01/2023. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
