You will serve as an ELECTRONIC MECHANIC in the Commanding Officer, Facility, and Infrastructure Management Department; and Facility and Plant Maintenance Department of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Duties
You will perform depot level overhaul, disassembly, repair, modification, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, alignment, installation, and maintenance on complex electronic systems.
You will maintain ongoing prototype systems as well as implement maintenance and repair procedures on major modifications of systems previously assigned to the activity.
You will write and or load the test program for the unit under test, select appropriate interface device, connect required stimulation and measurement blocks, and hook up the unit under test and use an electronic keyboard to run the test procedure.
You will work from manufacturer's specifications, schematics, block diagrams, and technical orders, determine the operation of circuits, locate points from which to take readings, and analyze circuit layout to complete necessary visual inspection.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Incumbent will be required to be CPR certified for this position.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain required level(s) of certification and/or training.
