What General Information Do I Need To Know About This Position? Salary: GS-11 $78,592 (Step 01) to $102,1666 (Step 10); GS-12 $94,199 (Step 01) to $122,459 (Step 10).

DEFINITIONS: EXPERIENCE: One year of work experience is twelve months working full-time (at least 35-40 hours per week). Part-time experience can be pro-rated (i.e., a year at 20 hours per week is credited as 6 months of experience). If your position consisted of mixed duties, experience credit is given for the percentage of time that you spent on qualifying duties (i.e., if you held a position for 2 years, full-time, consisting of 25% personnel work and 75% budget work, and then applied for a budget position you could calculate your experience as follows: 2 yrs = 24 months. 24 months x 75% [percentage of time spent on budget duties] = 18 months of qualifying experience.) GRADUATE EDUCATION: In the absence of specific graduate program information, a year of graduate education is 18 semester hours or 27 quarter hours of graduate level college course work, or the number of credit hours the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full time study. This education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. GS-11: Applicants must meet one of the following to qualify for the GS-11 level: 1. One year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service. Examples of GS-9 level work include: monitoring/reviewing the processing of obligations for accuracy and timeliness, makes recommendations, such as revisions to internal financial operating policies and procedures, monitors and tracks regularly recurring financial activity, uses systems to process financial transactions (i.e., obligation, payment, and journal entries). **OR 2. Applicants may substitute successful completion of 3 years of directly related, progressively higher level, graduate education or Ph.D. or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.M, if related). (54 semester hours, 81 quarter hours, or the equivalent). **OR 3. A combination of appropriate specialized experience (as described above) and graduate education (as described above) that is beyond the second year of progressive graduate study to meet the qualification requirements. GS-12: Applicants must meet the following to qualify for the GS-12 level: One year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service. Examples of GS-11 level work include: performing budget formulation and execution assignments, entering budget and project information in financial system, analyzing obligation documents to determine validity of payment vouchers and proper classification of the obligations, reviewing reimbursable agreements for accuracy and entering sales orders in financial system, developing or revising internal Financial Operating policies or procedures for the Bureau. You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements for the position by the closing date of the announcement.
