This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Office of Veterans Business Development in Washington, D.C. The incumbent Researches and develops policy to inform strategic decisions in collaboration with other federal agencies, veteran service organizations, military service organizations, academic institutions, private industry, and non-profit organizations.
Duties
Directs the day-to-day management of the Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) program; directs and manages efforts to research, analyze, develop, and implement agency-wide policies, standards, and procedures to effectively strengthen the VBOC program in the Agency.
Develops and implements short- and long-range goals and objectives, operating procedures, standards, and goals for leveraging resources through a variety of public and private partnership resources designed to promote and foster veteran business ownership and strengthen and improve the Agency's services for veteran business owners.
Provides expert guidance on the impact of new or proposed legislation, regulatory policy, or program priorities affecting OVBD; recommends and implements improvements to the VBOC program; provides input into the development of program goals and objectives.
Exercises the full range of supervisory and personnel management authorities and responsibilities in directing work of subordinate staff; plans, assigns and evaluates work; sets and adjusts priorities; develops performance standards; appraises work, gives advice and instructions, as required.
Requirements

- You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- You may be required to serve a one year supervisory probationary period.
Qualifications
GS-14: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector:
Developing, communicating, and implementing the strategy, vision, and direction of an organization with a diverse customer base; AND
Managing or advising on the day-to-day operations of an organization, which must include program management, marketing, and outreach; AND
Subject matter expert in at least one of the following: program management, economic development, or human resources matters; AND
Leading individuals to achieve organizational goals and objectives. These qualifications must be clearly reference in your resume.
