This position is located within the William J. Hughes Technical Center (ANG-E), Aviation Research Division (ANG-E2), Fire Safety Branch (ANG-E21), Fire Test Section (ANG-E212). Serves as an Engineering Technician (Aerospace) for assigned projects related to aircraft safety research, engineering, and development in FAA laboratories. Supports the testing requirements of the Fire Safety Branch, ANG-E21, primarily on the Branch’s operational but non-flyable aircraft.
Duties
The Engineering Technician (Aerospace) will perform a mix of routine and varying assignments associated with analyzing, installing, repairing, fabricating, or trouble-shooting electronic, electrical, and mechanical systems and components.

- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience includes: Experience conducting tests, reducing data, and preparing data briefs for projects and assisting in experiments carried out on operational aircraft and aircraft systems, including airframe, powerplant, and ground support equipment.ANDSelective placement factor (SPF) is a knowledge, skill or ability (KSA) or competency essential to perform the duties of a position. Candidates who do not possess the SPF are rated ineligible/ not qualified and will not receive further consideration for the position.Selective placement factor is: Ability to maintain and currently hold a valid, current Airframe AND Powerplant(A&P) license.
