About the Position: This position supports the mission of the Defense Health Agency, Assistant Director for Support, Medical Logistics Directorate, Environmental Services Division and is located at San Antonio, Texas.
Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
This is NOT a remote position.
Duties
Work with Chief, Healthcare Environmental Cleaning (HEC) Branch and eight Healthcare Environmental Services personnel in administering the $1.2B Healthcare Environmental Cleaning (HEC) Housekeeping Program across 305 sites.
Assist Chief, HEC Branch for the Quality Assurance, Risk Management and Administration of the DHA HEC contract.
Serve as a DHA Subject Matter Expert for HEC services and produces/furnishes guidance to field activities on technical problems.
Teach, coach, and mentor DHA HEC Functional Subject Matter Experts (FSMEs).
Communicate with DHA medical treatment facilities (MTFs) to evaluate effectiveness of current contracting policy.
Utilize expert knowledge of training requirements for all DHA HEC components, to support short and long range Education and Training needs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of
employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) assisting with Healthcare Environmental Cleaning (HEC), 2) participating in developing HEC procedures, regulations and/or directives, AND 3) assisting in the reviews of contract specifications and/or modifications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
