This position is located in the Standing Rock Service Unit (SRSU). The primary purpose of this position is to function as the Supervisor of Special Diabetes Program for Indians (SDPI). The incumbent is responsible for supervising, directing and coordinating activities of the Special Diabetes Program for Indians. Incumbent subject to occasionally work weekends and overtime to provide SDPI grant activities and services.
Duties
Coordinates all services and activities of the SDPI Program to expand services and increase public awareness of diabetes which includes maintaining data management system, evaluate projects for programmatic performance, update and work with sub-grantee in carrying out grant objectives.
Oversees SDPI budget and ensures grant application and all financial and monthly reports are submitted to appropriate agencies and maintain necessary documentation for financial and program records
Supervision of the SDPI Program employees and oversight of the subgrantee staff, plans work schedules, identifies appropriate training and competencies, and manages HR duties for employees within the SDPI program
Provide education and terach patient and families on diabetes management.

In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below-
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-11: one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-9grade level) and possession of a diploma, bachelor's degree, or master's degree from a professional nursing educational program. Examples Include: Plan and carry out assignments, assess diabetes education and status of Diabetes Standards of Care, discuss treatment plan with physicians. Coordinate care with other departments. Work with patients in the specialty of diabetes treatment and prevention in a community or clinical setting.
OR
I have successfully completed a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field.
Time In Grade (Merit Promotion Candidates Only)
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
