About the Position: This is a PERMANENT position as a Procurement Technician with the Mission and Installation Contracting Command-Fort Jackson, SC.

Duties

The incumbent is involved in a variety of work situations involving the full spectrum of the procurement process from the contracting pre-award phase through the post-award phase. Provides support to the organization's efforts to manage contract operations. Analyzes various procurement management documents and reports and takes appropriate corrective action. Serves as liaison for civilian personnel actions.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The incumbent must be able obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • This position requires submission of Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually thereafter.
  • Travel may be required up to 15%.
  • This position may be subject to a one (1) year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes answering recurring questions from various personnel about the status of requisitions, changes in orders and delivery dates, and reasons for delays; establishing and maintaining purchase or contract files for purchases; extracting data from automated office support systems to prepare various correspondence for administrative action; investigating payment discrepancies on procurement contracts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
