About the Position This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce. This position is located at Quantico, Virginia.
A recruitment or relocation bonus may be authorized.
Medical malpractice liability insurance is not required for federal civilian healthcare providers as they are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while acting within the scope of their employment.
Duties
Manages, plans and directs all aspects and activities of the clinic to include: diagnosis, care, treatment, and proper medical disposition of patients.
Provides a full range of professional medical services to both adults and family members of all ages ranges in a Family Practice mode of care on an outpatient setting.
Provides assessments, diagnoses, and treatment in the areas of general primary care.
Provides direct out-patient care to patients with general medical problems, complaints, and symptomotology.
Plans, directs, and supervises the professional and administrative functions of the Clinic through subordinate leaders/supervisors and direct reporting staff members.
Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
Provides advice and counsels employees on work and administrative matters.
Develops performance plans and rate employees.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A SECRET clearance is required.
- This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
- Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.
- This position is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- This is an inclement Weather Essential position. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.

Basic Requirement for a Supervisory Physician (Primary Care) Position:
Degree: Doctor of Medicine from a school in the United States or Canada approved by a recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicants graduation. [A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that provided education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools in the United States may be demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) (or a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country).
Graduate Training: Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree, a candidate must have had at least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, i.e., a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in an institution accredited for such training.
Licensure/Certification: Candidates must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Experience/Training: Applicants must possess 5 years of graduate training in the specialty of the position to be filled or equivalent experience and training.
