Duties

You will oversee the development and operation of a comprehensive Recurring Work/Preventive Maintenance Program. You will work with Performance Assessment Representatives to execute Preventive Maintenance Contract Surveillance. You will provide monthly reports on Dynamic Assets DCR (Direct Condition Ratings) completion percentages to the Requirements Branch Head. You will read/understand contract plans, specifications and drawings to propose cost effective solutions.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Facilities Engineering Career Field at Level II. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assisting higher graded technicians in preparing preventive maintenance and repair schedules to ensure facilities remain in good working condition; 2) Applying engineering principles as it pertains to the repair of various facilities systems (i.e. heating, ventilating, air condition systems, structural, roofing, electrical, fire alarm, utility distribution systems, etc.); 3) Aiding higher graded technicians in ensuring budget forecasts, estimates and submissions conform to requirements by researching budgetary policies and procedures; and 4) Inputting preventive and asset maintenance data by utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (e.g. Single Platform Maximo system).
