This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This position is within the Maintenance and Demil Division, Letterkenny Munitions Center located at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
Duties
Maintain databases on material to ensure availability through automated registries.
Coordinate requests from shop floor for parts and industrial supplies.
Communicate daily with personnel from various locations or supervisory levels to fill requests.
Utilize past procurement information to ensure sufficient quantities on hand.
Handle hazardous material in accordance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certified procedures.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. A secret security clearance is required for this position.
- This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position.
- Ammunition certification IAW AMC-R 350-4 is required within one year of appointment.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain a 6,500 lb forklift license within 30 days of employment.
- The applicant must pass a pre-employment physical and subsequent periodic medical examinations, Must be able to lift at least 45 pounds.
- This position is subject to pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter in compliance with the Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Program.
- May be required to travel 5% of the time.
- This position requires clearance in accordance with (IAW) the requirements of AR 190-11, Physical Security of Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives (AA and E).
- This position requires the incumbent to maintain valid vehicle operators license.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Minimum Qualfications: There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. This includes the ability to maintain databases, operate forklifts and conduct material inventories - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Physical Effort: Handles items weighing up to 45 lbs. unassisted with lengthy carries. Exertion is moderate; however, some assemblies are heavy and may require the use of material handling equipment or the assistance of others. Constant kneeling, stooping, and walking are required.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone - no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
