The Organizational Location of the Position is Administrative Section, Dental Service, Central Texas Veterans Health Care System (CTVHCS), Temple, TX. The Primary Purpose of the Position is to be responsible for assisting Dental clinic staff in maintenance and functions of supply management, data collection, equipment inventory, quality management, and education.
Duties
Major duties include, but not limited to:
Researching using multiple resources to obtain data and statistical information.
Compiling data and statistical information in an applicable format.
Managing equipment inventory and submitting equipment requests.
Preparing and submitting of various reports.
Performing Records Management Liaison (RML) duties.
Performing Automated Data Processing Coordinator (ADPAC) duties.
Dealing with people while working closely with both clinical and administrative staff in the Dental Clinic and other departments within the healthcare facility as well as veterans.
Maintaining records of employee training hours to assure compliance with facility mandatory requirements.
Maintaining composure and constantly exercising tact, diplomacy while demonstrating a cheerful attitude when dealing with difficult individuals and situations.
Displaying a genuine interest and sincere effort to resolve questions and problems. Maintaining good rapport with other professional and administrative staff members.
Ensuring all correspondence and typed reports specific to Dental Service programs are coordinated, completed, and submitted on specified target dates and in compliance with protocol.
Ensuring the service is in compliance with VA regulations, TJC standards, and station policies.
Researching for special projects assigned by the Chief and Administrative Officer of the Dental Department.
Assisting Dental clinic staff in maintenance and functions of supply and equipment management.
Managing equipment inventory and submitting equipment requests as necessary.
Serving as Hazardous Materials Coordinator for Dental Service.
Maintaining Material Safety Data Sheets on all hazardous products used at all sites according to facility regulations and OSHA standards.
Serving as alternate timekeeper processing payroll for up to 4 time and leave records.
Gathering, correlating and analyzing facts and information and making recommendations based on the data obtained.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30AM - 4:00PM

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Some work may require movement between offices, hospitals, warehouses, and similar areas for meetings and to conduct work. Work may also require walking/standing, in conjunctions with travel to and attendance at meetings and/or conferences away from the work site. Incumbent may carry and lift light items weighing less than 15 pounds

GS-06 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: Research that utilizes multiple resources to obtain data and statistical information, compiling data and statistical information in an applicable format. Manage equipment inventory and submit equipment request as necessary. Understand and appropriately apply procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise. Knowledge of filing, typing, entering data, maintaining records, taking shorthand, and using and completing forms to create spreadsheets, databases, and reports entering Time and attendance. Work with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
