The VA Boston Healthcare System is recruiting for a Prosthodontist. The Prosthodontist, you should be detail-oriented, patient, and able to handle difficult situations. Ultimately, an exceptional prosthodontist should demonstrate outstanding communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to ensure that patients receive the highest standard of prosthodontic care possible.

Duties

VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. Ideal candidates should be Board Eligible or Board Certified. Experience with Digital Dentistry, including but not limited to Digital Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics, is a mandatory requirement. The candidate should also have experience and willingness to restore full arch implants cases, including zygoma, pterygoid and angulated implant cases. The position also requires teaching of GPR residents from Harvard School of Dental Medicine. The Prosthodontic shall be proficient in all aspects of general dentistry, and may at times be requested to perform limited comprehensive dental treatment beyond the Prosthodontic Specialty focus. Must provide timely, accurate, and completed record documentation and consult management utilizing the organizational software and applications. Practice in accordance with accepted professional standards, organizational values, and with a commitment to excellent customer service. Quality Ranking Factor -Experience with 3D digital imaging, interpretation, and planning. Will provide education and training to members of the medical and dental staff through various modalities including conferences, committees, and lectures. Required to treat patient population with high percentage of medically (physical/psych/social) complex and compromised individuals. To be successful as a prosthodontist, you should be detail-oriented, patient, and able to handle difficult situations. Ability to convey VA practices and requirements to the Care Coordination team and community dental offices is highly preferred. A current, full and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Note: Dentists must maintain current registration in the State of licensure if this is a requirement for continuing active, current licensure. Work Schedule: Full Time Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm Compressed/Flexible: Not Authorized. Telework: Not Authorized Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required NOTIFICATIONS: Current and former Federal employees must submit copies of their most recent SF-50, (Notice of Personnel Action).The SF-50 must identify the position title, series, grade, step, tenure and type of service (Competitive or Excepted). In some cases, more than one SF-50 may be required to show a higher grade previously held. Incumbent may be required to travel to other VA campuses and CBOC's. This position is in the Excepted Service. Applicant's education, length of practice, will be considered by a compensation panel in determining the salary of the applicant selected. Drug Testing Position: Applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Qualifications

Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Dentist Basic Requirements A degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery or dental medicine resulting from a course of education in dentistry. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Approved schools are (1) United States and Canadian schools of dentistry listed by the Commission on Dental Accreditation(CODA), in the list published for the year in which the course of study was completed.(2) Schools (including foreign schools) accepted by the licensing body of a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia as qualifying for full and unrestricted licensure provided the licensure requirements include a written examination measuring science achievement and a performance examination measuring clinical competence certification, and must obtain a copy of the ECFMG certificate, if claimed by the applicant. ~AND~ Completed, or you are currently completing, a residency program in general practice or specialty, or comparable experience as a dentist actively involved in treating medically compromised patients. ~AND~ Currently hold, or will hold, a current, full and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Note: Dentists must maintain current registration in the State of licensure if this is a requirement for continuing active, current licensure. Preferred Experience: Experience with 3D digital imaging, interpretation, and planning. Completion of a residency program in Prosthodontics from an ADA Accredited US/Canadian School. Candidates who do not have a DMD/DDS from an accredited US/Canadian School will still be considered as long as they have completed or completing an ADA Accredited Prosthodontics Residency from US/Canadian Schools.
