This position is part of the Interior Business Center (IBC), Office of the Director (OD), IBC Enterprise Management. The incumbent will be responsible for minor construction and space alteration projects associated with buildings, maintaining the physical security program, and building operations.
Duties
The incumbent serves in a developmental capacity as a Facility Services Specialist with increasing responsibility for providing services that will ensure a professional workplace and will enhance the effectiveness and success of the Office of the Director's mission.
The incumbent is required to respond to emergencies and, in the absence of senior facilities personnel and act as the on-scene emergency coordinator.
These services are provided for IBC personnel in 4 geographic locations in the United States including GSA commercial leased space and GSA leased warehouse space.

To qualify for this position at the GS-7 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by the close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes receiving calls from customers reporting building issues such as, but not limited to air conditioning, custodial services, building and mechanical services; managing accountable property; performing safety inspections; or inspecting work performed by contractors. To be credible, this experience must have been equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of at least the GS-05 grade level in the federal service. -OR
EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least 1 full year of graduate-level education directly related field. (One year of graduate education is 18 semester hours or 27 quarter hours). Education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. You must include transcripts. -OR-
Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A.) Superior academic achievement must have been gained in a curriculum that qualifies for the position to be filled. Must have completed (or expect to complete within 9 months) all the requirements for a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university as evidenced by one of the three following methods.
A) I am in the upper third of my graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses; OR
B) I have a GPA 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum, or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in my major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; Grade-point averages are to be rounded to one decimal place. For example, 2.95 will round to 3.0 and 2.94 will round to 2.9. OR
C) I am a member of one of the national scholastic honor societies recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies. -OR-
Combination of education and experience as described above. Add the percentages together, the total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. You must include transcripts.
TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
