Duties
As a Public Health Advisor you will:
Plan, develop, and implement public health programs in collaboration with local, state, other Federal and/or international governments and various public, non-profit, and private and health-related organizations.
Establish systematic methods for program execution and advocacy that includes the identification of objectives, evaluation criteria, and legal and regulatory compliance requirements.
Work to develop public health messages with subject matter experts and develops messages into appropriate end-products for communicating public health information to target audiences.
Coordinate the development of information and education materials on product problems such as press releases, talking papers, and fact sheets to alert public or lay users about specific problems; papers for presentation at conferences or meetings of professional organizations.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level, which must include the following experience performing work related to planning, implementation, and evaluation of state and local public health programs.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
