About the Position: This position is located in Environmental Services, Operating Management Department (OMD), Directorate for Administration, Naval Hospital, Beaufort, South Carolina. Duties involve a normal amount of sitting, standing, and walking. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Work is performed in a normal office setting with adequate lighting and temperature controls. Full-time work, 40 hours per week. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Inspecting facilities for cleanliness. Recommends upgrades when needed. Managing subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Randomly survey spaces and linen.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires a National Agency Check w/ Inquiries (NACI) background check.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination. A candidate selected to this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to annual seasonal influenza vaccination.
  • Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
  • This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Provide Strategic plans to resolve cleaning and laundry issues in the facility; 2) Understand supply ordering; 3) Provide quality assurance plans to maximize manpower to cover areas that are not included in the contract. OR Education: Successful completion of a masters or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as public health or business administration with emphasis in hospital administration. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages.
