This position is located at the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System in Oklahoma City, OK. This position designs, specifies, fabricates, and coordinates an interior and way finding system.
Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Works with all stakeholders to ensure proper sign placement and creation for activation of spaces;
Reviews work orders and procedural manuals to determine critical design layout for subsequent production processes;
Develops, fabricates, and maintains framed floor plans and directories located throughout the hospital;
Fabricates all interior room signage and function signage along with any specialty signs that are required;
Reads and applies directions that apply to mixture use;
Uses various methods of surface preparation and finish;
Purchases materials and supplies to maintain an adequate stock for signage and interior design materials;
Installs signage;
Uses various hand tools and other accessories relative to design, layout, fabrication, and installation of graphic art; and
Performs other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Full-time; 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Qualifications
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS: The Sign Painter works from ladders/scaffolds to perform assigned tasks. They commonly move or lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and generally, must be able to carry the necessary tools, instruments and materials to each work site without assistance. Concentration is required for long periods of time laying out and lettering signs. A high degree of alertness and concentration with hand-eye coordination is required. Most work is performed indoors in a lighted, heated and air continued office/shop, however; some outdoor work may be required.
