This position is for one of the various teams within Human Resources Management for the U.S. Forest Service.
The position performs technical advice and assistance on basic questions in support of Human Resources Specialists to one or more specialized functional areas.

Duties
Duties listed are at the full performance level.
Provides technical support in recruitment and placement activities for a wide variety of external or internal recruitment actions.
Researches, analyzes, and provides written advisory opinions under the guidance of an HR Specialist.
Applies information and guidance from federal regulations, manuals, information systems, and other resources.
Employs advanced professional customer service communication techniques to ensure professional and productive voice, written, and electronic communications with customers.
Uses computer, word processing and/or other office automation equipment and various software programs to accomplish daily work.
Requirements

- Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience Requirement:
For the GS-05 level: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 grade level. Specialized experience is defined as one (1) or more of the following: Performed clerical support work and handling sensitive personnel information in human resources; and/or medical, legal, regulatory, or retail customer focused operations; and/or Answered inquiries; and/or Entered data into automated information systems; and/or Reviewed information requests to ensure all required information has been provided. OR A bachelor's degree or four (4) years of successfully completed education above high school; OR A combination of successfully completed post-high school education (in excess of the first 60 semester / 90 quarter hours) and specialized experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
For the GS-06 level:Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level. Specialized experience is defined as two (2) or more of the following: Provided technical advice on human resources and personnel request; and/or Assisted with a variety of duties within human resources; and/or Provided guidance to customers and colleagues on assigned routine human resource request; and/or Performed any of a variety of clerical/technical support in areas such as: personnel processing, administering employee payroll, classifications, employee benefits, worker's compensation, employee training and development, personnel security & performance management, recruiting & hiring, or providing human resources customer service to employees. OR One (1) full year (18 semester / 27 quarter hours) of successfully completed graduate level education if the coursework is directly related to the work of the position (human resources, business admin, public admin, communications, education, information technology, human relations, or social sciences). OR A combination of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university.
Work Experience: Your resume must clearly document the following for each block of work experience; the beginning day, month and year the work assignment started and ended; the hours worked per week; position title, and series and grade if applicable; and description of duties performed.
