The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as the technical expert and advisor on theory of operation, logistics, and maintenance engineering support services for life-cycle sustainment of Electronic and Information Technology systems and/or equipment on a broad range to include; Cryptologic, Cyber, Force Protection, Signal Intelligence and Technical Applications Equipment, deployed worldwide
Duties
1. Serves as a technical advisor to senior leaders and maintenance technicians in the maintenance, operation, and training related to complex and sophisticated systems and equipment.
2. Technical logistics representative for assigned EIT systems and/or equipment.
3. Provides technical services support for EIT systems and/or equipment.
4. Develops and reviews Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Design Change Notices (DCNs) and modifications.
5. Provides technical expertise and assistance to procurement activities in the selection of contractor repair sources.

- All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
- Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (continued)

- Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing
- The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments in CONUS and overseas locations. Employee may be required to perform unscheduled/short notice overtime

This is a GG-07 (Target 11) position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-07 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Entry/Developmental" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-07 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
Working as a skilled mechanic or maintenance worker, sales or service engineer, or planner or estimator in a technical group dealing with manufacture, utilization, repair, or operation of equipment.
Reviewing and applying technical specifications and requirements.
Analyzing equipment and forecasting spare parts requirements.
Reading and interpreting engineering change orders, equipment requisitions, shop orders, and work orders.
Analyzing contract specifications and examining pertinent equipment to determine if specifications are met.
Analyzing or supervising maintenance, repair, or production operations to determine methods of improvement.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include working knowledge of EIT systems and/or equipment, including, but not limited to, highly advanced and complex electromechanical devices, computers, network components, radio receivers/transmitters, recorders, video displays, mass storage devices, and their advanced design systems employing micro-miniaturized assembles and components. Working knowledge of all facets of logistics and maintenance processes, methods, and procedures to include, but not limited to systems/equipment management, materiel management, cataloging, standardization, provisioning, data management, and technical writing. Knowledge of the policies, concepts, disciplines and principles of logistics management, materiel management, and maintenance to ensure that support are properly considered during the development, cataloging, standardization, provisioning, data management, and technical writing.Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

EDUCATION: I have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of an Administrative Support Specialist. COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: I have less than the full amount of specialized experience required but I have more than 2 years of graduate level education with a major or subject area related to the position to be filled. Therefore, I have a combination of experience and education. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your official transcripts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of maintenance concepts, principals, and practices of EIT systems and/or equipment; and of DoD, NSA, AFMC, AFLCMC, Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division logistics procedures and policies.
2. Knowledge of security practices for ensuring the safeguarding of classified information; and logistics support standard and non-standard systems.
3. Skill providing technical advice in terms of oral and written briefings, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership and maintenance technicians; and developing interpersonal relationships, maintaining good working relationships, and working cooperatively as a member of a team.
4. Skill in analyzing and interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, and technical data; and, identifying and analyzing complex technical problems and developing innovative solutions.
5. Ability to plan, organize, and reprioritize work to meet changing deadlines.
6. Ability to develop and conduct training to ensure proper maintenance of assigned EIT systems and/or equipment; and communicate well, both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
