Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Chief Human Capital Officer, in Irving, Texas.
This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Duties
As a Human Resources Assistant (OA), at the full performance level, you will perform the following duties:
Review documents and records for completeness and accuracy and follow through to obtain missing or corrective information.
Use personal computer and office software programs to enter data, complete forms, correct errors or omissions, and extract, revise, or sort information in Human Resources documents, files, records, and databases.
Process a full range of recurring actions or forward requests to Human Resources specialists or other employees when further processing is required.
Use online Human Resources resources to obtain information accessible over the Internet.
Respond to inquiries concerning Human Resources entitlements and services, processing procedures and requirements, and provide other information depending on the nature of the issue, organization serviced, and status of the requester.
Requirements

- Probationary Period: This is a full-time permanent position (Career/Career-Conditional appointment). Upon appointment to this position, you may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.

You qualify for the GS-06 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-05 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
Reviewing personnel documents for completeness and conformity to appropriate laws and regulations.
Ensuring documents are accurate and keyed into the appropriate personnel databases.
Researching and assembling information necessary for issue resolutions.
Using computers and software programs to extract, revise or sort Human Resources information (e.g. recruitment, benefits, position classification, or processing of personnel documents) from files, records or databases.
You qualify for the GS-07 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-06 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
Independently processing a full range of actions with varying complexities related to Human Resources.
Assisting Human Resources specialists and others by performing detailed review of records and other documentation in preparation for further analysis and processing.
Responding to inquiries concerning HR entitlements and services, processes, procedures, and requirements.
Researching regulations, directives, policies, and guides to provide recommendations when seeking guidance from supervisor on significantly complex or controversial issues.
