Serves as an Audiovisual Production Specialist on the Audiovisual Team within the Corporate Communications Division at the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA). The primary function of the position is to produce video creating strategy and use of media to meet requirements at DeCA. This position requires the management of multiple audiovisual production projects and resources at field or Agency level.

Duties

Performs a variety of administrative and technical tasks associated with the production of various routine electronic imaging, video products and audio presentation support. Performs a wide variety of media assignments using a range of video equipment and processes and receives video assignments from the Audiovisual Team Lead. Duplicates, edits and assembles finished products. Assists with production scheduling, tracking, and planning of audiovisual products. Facilitates routine tasks provided by the supervisor using various equipment, hardware, software and methods such as professional cameras, lighting, and other audiovisual recording equipment. This position offers promotion potential to a higher grade. To prepare you for the higher grade, work assignments will be progressively more complex. After meeting all qualifications and requirements for the next grade level and with your supervisor's recommendation, you may be promoted without further competition. Qualifications

To be considered for a Recent Graduate appointment you must meet ONE of the following requirements: Complete all requirements for an associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational, or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution within the previous two (2) years; -OR- Complete all requirements for an associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational, or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution after the close of the announcement but by May 15,2022 -OR- Veterans who, due to military service obligation, were precluded from applying to the Recent Graduate Program during any portion of the eligibility period described above shall have a full two-year period of eligibility upon release or discharge from active duty. This eligibility period cannot extend beyond 6 years from the date on which the individual completed the requirements of an academic course of study. You must have obtained your degree on February 20, 2016 or later (The issuance of E.O. 13562) For the GS-5 grade level, In addition to meeting the Recent Graduate eligibility requirements, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A) Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level that provided an understanding of the basic principles of any of the following: Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions, plan and organize work; and Communicate effectively orally and in writing. OR (B) Four year course of study leading to at least an undergraduate degree with a major field of study in business administration, public administration, agricultural economics (food industry management), or other fields related to this position OR (C) A combination of education and experience. To be creditable, the computed percentage of the requirements must equal at least 100%. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of experience. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 36. Then divide your total number of completed undergraduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 120. Add the two percentages. Specialized experience includes: Uses knowledge of technical operation and maintenance of cameras and associated photography equipment to produce professional quality video and audio broadcast and media products and services. Performs operator maintenance on all equipment. Duplicates, edits and assembles finished products Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
