This position is located in the Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer (OCHCO), Associate Directorate for Human Resources Training and Development (ADHRTD), Learning & Talent Development Branch (LTDB).The supervisor is Jawanza Gibbs-Nicholson. This position is Bargaining Unit with the National Treasury Employees Union, Chapter 208. This position is not subject to Confidential Financial Disclosure and security ownership restriction reporting requirements.
Duties
As a Training Support Specialist you will be the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff's first line point-of-contact for training support. The training support specialist is responsible for the Talent Management System (TMS) user support, documenting and escalating technical issues. The training support specialist also registers employees for external training and supports the External Training manager. The training support specialist receives requests by email, Web form, or telephone call, and logs and manages them in a Service Request System. Assists NRC employees and TMS users with questions about the TMS and NRC training policy and procedures. Records employee completions and other learning events in the LMS when an employee experiences completion issues; escalates technical issues to technical support; assists employees with finding courses and other learning events in the TMS. Registers NRC employees for external training. Answers questions regarding status of registration and communicates with outside vendors. Stays cognizant of HRTD training policies, procedures, and processes, as well as Agency developments that may impact agency training.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
The ideal candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate the following:
Specialized Experience for the GG 8:
Experience utilizing various office software programs (Microsoft Office, etc.) or a Learning Management System (LMS).
Experience using critical thinking skills and the ability to work with all levels of staff and management.
Ability to effectively communicate and present written and oral communications.
Specialized Experience for the GG 9:
Experience utilizing various office software programs (Microsoft Office, etc.).
Experience utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS) to support an agency’s training program.
Experience using critical thinking skills to address and resolve issues.
Strong written and oral skills, and ability to effectively prepare and present written materials and job aids.
Understanding of the principles and practices involved with developing, and maintaining professional training programs to provide LMS-related assistance to staff members.
Specialized Experience: Specialized Experience is demonstrated by working in an environment utilizing various office software programs, providing customer service to staff, and researching, analyzing problems, gathering data, recognizing solutions, and conveying information to the appropriate audience.
