The position is located in the Red Lake Service Unit, Red Lake, MN. The purpose of the position is to provide nursing care to patients in a general hospital and ambulatory setting. This position requires licensure as a registered nurse. This position is at the developmental level. May be required to work rotational shifts, days, nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Duties

Utilize the nursing process in identifying individual patient problems and in developing, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans. Communicate the patient needs and recommend treatment to care team. Triage patients who call or walk-in and direct them appropriately. Provide patient education and self-management support to encourage patient to meet goals.

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Education: A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools. Licensure: For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: GS-0610-04 (Excepted Service Applicants Only) must have one the following: I have completed a professional nursing program of less than 30 months' duration or an associate degree OR; I have at least one (1) year of nursing experience as a military corpsman. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
