Duties

Provides technical advice, assistance, and direction to Facilities Operations staff (managers, engineers, and architects) at both the Regional Office and institutions regarding or related to electronic and communications systems design, operations, and management.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements: Education: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this position. Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in federal service. Experience in evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrated knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology. Some examples of qualifying experience are: Experience monitoring installation and inspecting and performing acceptance tests on new or modified communications and electronic systems. Experience in utilizing electronic equipment to resolve operational problems, and knowledge of electronic engineering principles and practices. Experience in testing procedures and evaluating new electronic systems for use in penal facilities. Experience in providing technical expertise to design and evaluate new communication systems and electronic equipment. Credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as number of hours worked per week) spent in the activities. **Your eligibility for consideration will be based on your responses to the questions in the application.**
