About the Position: Serves as the Director, Directorate of Public Works overseeing management and operation decisions related to engineering, environmental, housing and DPW logistical support. May be filled under any of the following occupational series depending on the qualifications of the applicant and needs of the organization: General 0801 Civil 0810 Architect 0808 Mechanical 0830 Electrical 0850 Recruitment, relocation and/or retention incentives MAY be offered for this position.

Duties

As a Supervisory Interdisciplinary, you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list: Establish workload priorities and initiates assignments based on the difficulty, complexity, type of work and employee capabilities. Apply a multi-disciplined engineering knowledge to perform General Engineering duties with the Directorate. Oversee the administration and management of support contract for engineering, housing, and logistical activities. Establish policies, reviews performance and provides acceptance of contractor services. Provide final technical decisions concerning quality of services provided. Ensure budgetary requirements are in place and that coordination is conducted with functional elements. Determine resource needs and allocation of resources and accounts for their effective use. Direct the preparation, compilation, review, analysis, and submission of all program data required for program budget input. Provide overall continuity in leadership to ensure commitments to and from customers/partners are met and project execution is achieved. Evaluate and interpret directives and policy instructions regarding assigned and proposed programs and makes recommendations on feasibility for accomplishment.

Requirements

  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
  • A Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450 is required upon entering the position and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
  • IAW AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization. The incumbent must be exempted from recall to active duty and will receive training to ensure mission accomplishment.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid state issued Driver's License.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Professional Engineering License within 12 months of employment.
