The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Range Scheduler for the 56th Range Management Office, which operates the 1.05 million acre Barry M. Goldwater Range East (BMGR East).
Duties
Builds accurate and effective Range and Airspace Schedules for use of special use airspace and tactical aviation training ranges.
Conforms with Management Objectives and policy - Monitors scheduling operations initiatives and assures conformity with management objectives and policy.
Technical Data Management - Provides technical guidance and expertise with respect to range scheduling.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and administrative support position.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-6, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes extensive technical knowledge of range scheduling operations, concepts, principles, practices and skill to plan in a dynamic Primary Training Range (PTR) scheduling function. Ability to determine issues that may prevent successful execution of proposed scheduling contracts. Knowledge of current and proposed software designed to enhance command and control in executing range scheduling program. Independently prioritizes work within resource limitations to ensure objectives are met such as orchestrating, analyzing, planning and changing schedules. Influence managers, supervisors or others from both within and outside the organization on the distribution of resources and propose alternative courses of action for range operations and make recommendations that maximize mission effectiveness. Knowledge of standard office computer programs (Microsoft Office suite), automated web-based flight scheduling systems and ability to access, manipulate, and extract data.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-6 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-7 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of and experience in aircraft scheduling procedures.
Comprehensive knowledge of Special Use Airspace including Restricted Areas, Military Operating Areas (MOAs), Air Traffic Control Assigned Airspace (ATCAA), and Military Training Route (MTRs).
Strong organizational skills that demonstrate ability to coordinate multiple functions simultaneously in a high tempo environment.
Knowledge of standard office computer programs (Microsoft Office suite), automated web-based flight scheduling systems and ability to access, manipulate, and extract data.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and ability to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy, and diplomacy.
Knowledge of Air Force Records Management Program and procedures.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
