THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST (Title 32), Position Description Number D2395000 and is part of the OK 137th Special Operations Wing, Oklahoma Air National Guard.
Duties
The purpose of this position is to provide and/or administer advanced technical training, organizational readiness, and mission preparation/execution for a group of Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Operators. Incumbent performs mission execution through a variety of staff functions including Airborne ISR Operations, Standardization and Evaluation, Training, Scheduling, and Weapons and Tactics. Assists in testing, experimenting, and developing new methods, processes, and combat tactics to enhance the use of a weapon system, as well as, executing all function work. Incumbent provides accurate and timely analysis critical to the effectiveness of unit operations and sustainment of unit resources.
Performs mission execution in all section activities to include standards and evaluations, qualification training, scheduling, and tactics, techniques, and procedures.
Possesses knowledge of a wide range of Airborne ISR concepts, principles, and practices; and an in-depth knowledge of specific functional areas of Signals Intelligence to accomplish work processes through the use of related intelligence systems, mission equipment, methods, services, and facilities.
Reviews, analyzes, and resolves difficult and highly complex intelligence problems.
Develops briefings for mission preparation, including combat planning, weather factors, mission objectives, and other agency coordination to ensure effective mission execution.
Makes mission recommendations to operations officer.
Enables weapon system optimization for intelligence system employment and integration into Combat Air Force operations.
Develops and teaches advanced warfighter educational lessons to all squadron personnel.
Conducts warfighter education to combat mission ready (CMR) personnel.
Works closely with the operations training section to expand the recurring training program (classroom and scenario) to increase the crew baseline knowledge.
Provides supporting/background information on which to build lesson outlines.
Develops and administers weapons and tactics knowledge examinations to unit crewmembers.
Collaborates in the development and execution of deployments and exercises involving ISR capabilities.
Reviews and facilitates new system employment techniques, and trains unit personnel on new tactics and procedures.
Develops new tactics on ISR operations methods, and enhancement training of deployed operations.
Enhances next-generation intelligence systems subject-matter expertise and operational mission readiness and utilizes test activities to enhance fielding of future intelligence systems.
Ensures combat readiness and proficiency of Airborne ISR operators.
Executes the training program for all unit operators including system capabilities, tactics, and employment considerations.
Executes a detailed training plan to create certified operators capable of deploying and providing desired ISR capability to combatant commanders.
Plans, organizes, and instructs academic and hands-on training pertaining to the use of intelligence systems; provides advice on the proper weapons and tactics to enhance execution of the ISR mission.
Supervises and executes policy, instructions, and procedures governing the overall management of the training program.
May be required to maintain certification and demonstrate proficiency as an instructor. Plans and presents material in accordance with lesson plans.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- This position requires the incumbent to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station. The incumbent must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
- Incumbent is required to maintain qualifications and/or certifications of position assigned.
- This position requires military membership, compatible unit and Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) assignments, to include medical requirements of the position.
Qualifications
Military Grades: E-3 through E-7
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which demonstrates administrative, professional, investigative, or technical work requiring the ability to deal effectively with others, to collect, evaluate and organize pertinent facts. Experience preparing clear and concise written reports.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education or training developing and recommending policy, organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations. Experience in administrative, investigative, or technical work which required the applicant to deal effectively with others. Experience collecting, evaluating and organizing pertinent facts and to analyze and prepare clear and concise reports.
Education
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirements.
