THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ARMAMENT WORKER SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D072400 and is part of the IL CSMS 1, National Guard.

Duties

As a ARMAMENT WORKER SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), WS-6601-9, you will supervise workers, either directly or through one or more subordinate leaders and/or supervisors, in accomplishing the operations of a distinct organizational unit and to perform associated nonsupervisory work. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence, The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees. The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible. The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership. The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens. Military Grades: Warrant Officer - Minimum Rank WO1 - Maximum Rank CW4 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess experience, education or training which demonstrates the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WS-9 Level MUST possess at least 36 months of experience or training demonstrating a broad knowledge in repairing, rebuilding, modifying and testing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems and major components of weapons equipment; experience in diagnosing malfunctions and determining needed repairs in weapons systems; experience demonstrating the ability to inspect all weapons systems; experience interpreting and applying drawings, schematics, blueprints, diagrams and specifications; experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related the repair function of this occupational series; must have the ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment; ability to provide guidance to others in work related directly to this occupational series. SPECIALIZED SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE: MUST possess specialized supervisory experience which includes, in addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel; experience reviewing work requirements and establishing priorities to meet deadlines; experience that provides knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function; experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes; experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
