Duties

Organize, train, and lead Wing Inspection Teams (WIT): Identify approximately 200 inspectors across the wing and ensures they are properly trained. Organize and evaluate Commander's Inspection Program (CCIP). Lead teams of up to 60 inspectors in order to assess readiness, discipline, efficiency, and economy of assigned Air Force units and reports findings to the installation commander and higher headquarters. Commander's Inspection Management Board (CIMB) & Checklist Management: Facilitate process owners on corrective action plans. Maintain liaison with those seeking information on solutions for deficiencies and issues.

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, ADMINISTRATIVE AND MANAGEMENT POSITIONS. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to participate in the assessment and development of multifaceted plans and programs for conducting evaluations, analyses, audits, quality and assurance management systems, process improvement, data management, interviews and surveys, and related education and awareness programs; ability to identify evaluators/inspectors, provide the training, evaluate their performance, and track all related events. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-­grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the NH-03 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Ability to modify standard work practices and adapt techniques to solve a wide variety of interrelated problems to adept precedents and make departures from previous approaches to similar projects in order to provide for specialized requirements. 2. Knowledge and skill to gather, assemble, and analyze facts; draw conclusions; devise solutions to problems; and identify changes and trends. 3. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of program operations. 4. Skill in conducting interviews with supervisors and employees to obtain information about organizational missions, function, and work procedures. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, negotiate complex issues, and maintain good working relationships. 5. Ability to participate in study teams to originate new ideas, projects, and methodologies; and execute projects and/or studies within established time constraints. WORK ENVIRONMENT - The work is performed in a typical office setting, requiring the use of normal safety precautions necessary for an office environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. PHYSICAL DEMANDS - The work is primarily sedentary. May require some walking, standing, bending, carrying and/or lifting of light items such as paper or books. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
