You will serve as a FUEL DISTRIBUTION WORKER in the FUELS SECTION, AIR FIELD OPERATIONS BRANCH, OPERATIONS DIVISION, OPERATIONS, PLANNING AND EXTERNAL AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT of MCAS BEAUFORT SC.

Duties

You will operate refueling trucks to transport fuel on the installation and over public highways. You will perform daily operator maintenance on vehicles (e.g., check fluid levels, tire pressure, etc.). You will collect fuel samples from tankers, bulk storage tanks, fill stands, nozzles, mobile re-fuelers, filters, and separators to conduct on site visual tests. You will be responsible for the transferring and placement of fuel. You will be responsible for the maintenance of storage tanks and equipment. You will serve on quick response for oil spills, tank ruptures, and leaks from barges, or other types of petroleum pollution. This position requires rotating shift work.

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States, South Carolina driver’s license.
  • You are required to obtain and obtain a current valid United States, South Carolina Class B CDL with hazardous material and tanker endorsements.
  • You will be required to attend the Airfield Vehicle Operator Indoctrination Course on an annual basis and maintain a current airfield vehicle operator’s license.
  • You will be required to complete medical surveillance program evaluations related to this position.
  • You may be required to work overtime.
  • You are required to successfully complete mandatory training requirements for this position.
  • You are required to adhere to all squadron, installation, and state safety rules at all time.
