About the Position: This position is located at Army Health Clinic Presidio of Monterey - Family Medicine Service. Assignments require the incumbent to synthesize group data in order to complete reports and make recommendations to the MTF Commander regarding service availability and assignment trends. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA).

Duties

The incumbent will Serve as the point of contact (POC) for the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP). Assist the command with assignment coordination functions for issues involving family members with special health care needs. Interview patrons to assess the type of assistance required and provide information about community service systems, agency policies, and application procedures. Review the Exceptional Family Member Program enrollment packets for completeness, accuracy and regulatory compliance. Assist sponsor and their family members on services needed to support or assist with special educational, therapeutic, rehabilitative, or other needs. Perform a variety of administrative tasks in support of the clinic.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation, (NACI) (Tier 1). A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
• This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing office support duties: such as providing information to patrons about program's services, requirements, and procedures; reviewing enrollment documents for compliance with mandatory regulations; assisting clients with accessing resources and referrals for services; and using automated systems to track and maintaining case files. OR Education :One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Child & Family Welfare, Counseling, Family and Community Services, Behavioral Science, Human Development, Sociology, Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling, or related field of study from an accredited college or university. (You must attach a copy of your transcripts with your application). OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
