About the position: This position will be assigned to the Fitness Center on Patrick SFB, FL. This position includes the opportunity to enroll in Health and Life Insurance, 401K and Retirement, Annual and Sick Leave.
This position requires shift work to provide coverage on days, evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Scheduled hours will be a minimum of 40 hours per week. Must be able to life objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Duties
Applicants will be reviewed and referred on the following dates: Dec. 1, 2023, Dec. 11, 2023, and closing on Dec. 21, 2023. Announcement will close once position is filled.
Performs a variety of duties in support of the day-to-day operations for the Patrick Space Force Base (PSFB) and Cape Canaveral Space Force Stations (CCSFS) Fitness Centers. In the absence of the Fitness & Sports Manager, takes operational command of those duties. Manages all functional programs to include Safety, Public Health, Marketing and Civil Engineering custodial contract. Manages compliance with all aspects of the Fitness & Sports Center directives, reports any discrepancies to appropriate agency for actions. Manages all aspects of fitness center daily operations to include front desk operations, the scheduling of personnel, hiring and interviewing process, evaluations, personnel actions, and keeping accurate supervisor personnel folders. Certifies payroll to include approving/denying leave slips and maintaining those records and approving timecards within SETS payroll system. Administers the training plan to identify, document, and execute training needs and ensure staff members meet the requirements of their positions. Maintains accountability and protection of furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) IAW AFI 34-204, Property Management and ensures local resource protection plans implemented via the internal control procedures for protection of assets. Creates continuity electronic folders as required to be used as a comprehensive historical overview of operations. Ensures compliance with DoD MWR/Fitness checklist items. Serves as a board member of the Fitness and Sports Advisory Council. Certifies electronic daily receipts on 1876 NAF program system. Makes cash deposits of funds as required per local NAF guidance. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Six months of specialized experience in developing, implementing, implementing the daily operations of a business. Fitness and Sport Center is desirable. Must be able to get CPR/AED/Blood Bourne Pathogens/First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire. Ability to supervise, train and schedule subordinates. Strong interpersonal, administrative and computer skills are desirable. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination. Must read, write and speak English fluently and be able to communicate effectively with patrons and co-workers. At times, will be required to work on an uncommon tour of duty to include nights, weekends, and holidays and will work rotating schedules. Must successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) if required.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
