This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Office of Investment and Innovation with the Office of Small Business Innovation Research and Technology Transfer in Washington, DC.
Duties
This position is located in the Office of Investment and Innovation (OII). OII promotes small business and startup investment and innovation by providing critical access to capital, networks, and assistance necessary for businesses to incubate, expand and sustain. OII partners with Small Business Investment Companies (SBICs), Innovation Accelerator Networks, Universities, and the SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research)/STTR (Small Business Technology Transfer Program) community.
The Program Analyst (Innovation and Research) must be well versed in the principles of technological innovation; provisions of law, regulation, reporting, and processes governing the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.
Assess, formulate, and implement polices and strategies that support small businesses in obtaining federal R&D funding.
Monitor, coordinate, and provide oversight of the 11 federal agencies that participant in the SBIR program.
Coordinates SBIR interagency working groups and other efforts that support the implementation of SBIR and STTR legislation and policy.
Requirements

- You must successfully complete a background investigation.
- You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
Qualifications
GS-14: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector:
Experience interpreting, advising, and coordinating policy and regulation in support of the SBIR program; and
Outreach and collaboration with external partners both federal and private sector.
