Duties

As the Branch Chief of Logistics and IT Planning and Readiness, you will be directing policy, planning, organizing, coordinating, controlling, and evaluating the activities of the OI Resource Management Division's Logistics and Administration Branch. This position starts at a salary of $132,368.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $172,075.00 (GS-14, Step 10) with promotion potential to $172,075 (GS-14 Step 10). Major Duties may include but are not limited to: Making major recommendations such as those involving technical, financial, organizational, and administrative factors to achieve the optimum mix of reduced operating costs and assurance of program effectiveness, including introduction of automated processes and methods improvements. Managing the development, assignment, and higher-level clearance of goals and objectives of the Logistics and Administration Branch and Office of Intelligence (OI). Approving multi-year work plans developed by subordinate organizational units. Ensuring that the entire process and systems of logistics and IT management is maintained and developed in accordance with CBP policies, regulations, and guidance as well as the goals of OI at an economical cost. This includes but is not limited to storage, distribution, warehousing, movement of goods from one place to another (internally or externally), tracking, and delivery of goods. Assuring implementation by subordinates of the OI goals and objectives. Determining goals and objectives that need additional emphasis, developing measures that evaluate performance, making recommendations for program improvement, and managing all resources as corporate assets.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Managing organizational changes or major changes to the structure and content of the program or program segments directed. Maintaining effective management-employee relations through communications and recognition of employee performance. Coordinating, maintaining, and justifying an effective, economic, and logistically supportable strategy that covers work loading decisions, inventory procedures, lost or damaged equipment processes, equipment refreshing based on obsolescence, scopes of repair, and quality assurance at the user level. Devising and implementing new policy or procedures for accomplishing work to solve productivity requirements and reduce significant barriers to productivity. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 11/27/2023. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. Current and former federal employees may be required to serve or complete a probationary period.
