This position is located in the State Office with the Management and Strategy Organization.
The incumbent serves as an Administrative Program Specialist working for the Assistant State Conservationist for Management and Strategy (Supervisory Business Manager). The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a staff specialist performing assignments, projects or studies related to administrative business operations and programs.
Duties
Assists in the implementation of procedures designed to improve administrative effectiveness, automating and streamlining procedures wherever possible to serve the best interests of the organization.
Assists in ensuring administrative activities are procedurally compliant and that all required tasks are being performed correctly in accordance with established rules and regulations.
Prepares and processes correspondence, reports, forms, hard-copy and electronic filing; mail procedures; and security procedures.
Develops and maintains computer spreadsheets, databases, and other software in order to monitor operations.
Assists with various administrative tasks such as timekeeping and timesheet verification; fleet and vehicle management; purchase card coordination; physical inventories; and coordination of training and travel.
Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level(s) in which you are applying:
GS-09
Specialized Experience: One or more full-time years (12-months) of specialized work experience, equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, performing the following duties:
assisting in coordinating the administrative work of an organization;
assisting with administrative tasks such as timekeeping and timesheet verification; preparing reports; purchase card coordination; mailing and processing correspondence; coordination of training and travel;
developing and maintaining computer spreadsheets, databases, and other software in order to monitor and report on operations; and
assisting in the implementation of procedures designed to improve administrative effectiveness, automating and streamlining procedures.

OR
Education: Must have a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in business administration, human resources, public administration or other directly related field that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR
Combination: Must have a combination of the specialized experience and graduate education described above that when combined totals 100 percent. First, determine your total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determine your education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then add the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Only graduate education in excess of 1 year (18 semester hours) may be used to qualify applicants for the GS-09 level.
