About the Position: Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA, a rural town in Northern California. Herlong is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, NV, and 35 miles south of Susanville, CA. Employees work a 4/10 work week, Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and daily child care available. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center, (Mass transportation is available at minimal cost.) Surrounding area boasts a full range of outdoor sports/recreation activities.

Duties

Lead as a senior Traffic management Specialist and Team Leader. Provide transportation and traffic management foundation and applied expertise in the review and development of policies and procedures associated with transportation. Ensure that the organization’s strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team. interfaces with system administrators to monitor processes and functions for automated transportation systems.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires incumbent to obtain AMMO 62 requirement within (1) ONE YEAR.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: providing expertise in a particular functional area of traffic management for overall traffic program management, carry out projects to improve the efficiency and productivity of transportation services, and provides input to leadership on transportation setbacks. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
