You will serve as a CONSTRUCTION CONTROL INSPECTOR in the Facilities Support Contract Section, Public Works Branch, Installation and Environment Division of MCLB ALBANY GA.

Duties

You will provide engineering and contract support services in the field primarily for construction contracts. You will review, assess and resolve complex and diverse (e.g. multi-trade, multiple technologies) service, construction and design problems encountered during the performance of projects assigned. You will provide advice, solutions and assists the construction engineer on technical matters requiring extensive knowledge of engineering practices and construction methods. You coordinate with project designers and provide solutions to complex and diverse technical problems. You provide technical oversight of multiple construction contracts. You will review and process contractor’s submittals including process schedules, safety plans, quality control plans, and utility outage requests for assign projects. You will review and recommend approval of progress payments and assure work is done in accordance with control plans and specifications using appropriate guideline. You will coordinate construction operations between contractors station personnel, and other Government agencies. You will review contractor daily reports for thoroughness and accuracy and check daily reports with payrolls for any discrepancy. You will ensure arrangements are made for construction sites access and utilities, gate passes and clearances, storage areas, and government furnished equipment.

  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Administering contracts (e.g., Construction Contracts, Service Contracts), assessing and resolving complex construction and design problems; Performing surveillance and inspection of construction operations; Reviewing specifications and statement of work covering complex and diverse design; Monitoring construction projects to a successful and timely completion.
