You will serve as a SHIPWRIGHT SUPERVISOR II in the Production Department of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will determine manpower, tooling, material availability, and machine capabilities. You will organize, coordinate and direct the work activities and personnel of the units supervised. You will check the work operations, the completed work, and inspection reports, as required, to ensure that production and quality standards are met. You will study continuing problems and take or recommend corrective action. You will assure through the Nuclear Coordinator that an adequate radiological work force capability is maintained, qualification is updated in accordance with regulations, and that a sufficient number of back-up personnel are available. You will assure that subordinate supervisors effectively carry out policies in labor management and equal opportunity. You will participate with higher level management in discussions on workload, budget, acquisition of plant and minor property, training and other management related areas.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
