Duties

You will analyze the schematic layout and make preliminary visual inspections and operational tests to determine components causing malfunctions or invalid readings. You will inspect electronic and electrical equipment and associated components that have been repaired, overhauled, modified, or tested. You will inspect printed circuit components, transformers, capacitors, resistors, semi-conductors, vacuum tubes, wiring harnesses, waveguides, coaxial transmission lines, or precision mechanical parts and assemblies to verify operational efficiency. You will install and repair pneumatic and ultrasonic liquid level controls to verify operational performance of pneumatic systems. You will rip-out, overhaul, repair, modify, fabricate, and reinstall electronic equipment associated with a shop. You will conduct visual and audible examinations of electronic equipment to verify possible damage. You will use circuitry theory to identify and correct problems of identified electronic malfunctions. You will determine test equipment, methods, and tools needed for electronic repairs. You will perform research on new parts for work in progress using technical manuals, blueprints, or drawings. You will troubleshoot, modify, repair, and rewire boilers and steam generators.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: the ability to perform common tasks including troubleshooting control circuits and electrical panels.
