The primary purpose of this position is to: serve as the principal off assistant and Secretary to the commander (CC) of the AirForce Technical Applications Center (AFTAC), Chief Scientist (DISL), or Senior Support Staff.

Duties
Duty 1: Serves as the functional lead for all subordinate directorate administrative professionals within Center, providing general oversight, advice and guidance on AFTAC processes and procedures.
Duty 2: Coordinates closely with members of the Command Section Staff to Establish, improve upon, and provide continuity of office operations.
Duty 3: Reviews incoming correspondence and e-mail, identifying what needs to be brought to the CC, DISL, or Senior Support Staff's attention, referred to appropriate system (NIPRNET/SIPRNET/JWICS), in compliance with the appropriate classification guide.
Duty 4: Exercises primary control over the various calendars for scheduling appointments and activities within the center.

Qualifications
This is a GG-08 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-08 duties for the "Technicain/Administrative Support" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-08 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
In order to qualify, you must meet the Specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: knowledge of standardized rules, procedures, or operations requiring considerable training and experience to perform the full range of standard clerical and non-clerical assignments and resolve recurring problems; and the skill, acquired through considerable training and experience, to operate and adjust varied equipment for purposes such as performing numerous standardized tests or operations. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of the AFTAC Nuclear Treaty Monitoring mission and its applicability to extensive rules, procedures, or operations applied to secretarial and clerical assignments to perform the procedural and administrative work of the center, such as preparing and editing documents maintaining files records, making and preparing travel arrangements, locating, assembling and composing information for various reports, inquires, and nontechnical correspondence.
Knowledge of office functions and commitments of the AFTAC CC, DISL, or Senior Support Staff to prepare and review correspondence, to screen telephone calls and visitors, to maintain the CC, DISL, or Senior Support Staff's calendar, and to perform other substantive or administrative work of the Center.
Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling. Punctuation. Capitalization, and format to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports.
Knowledge of word processing and other automation software functions to support office operations and produce a variety of textual documents such as letters, reports, memos, and form letters.
Skills in typing; a qualified typist required.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Knowledge of security procedures, classification guides, and classified systems (including SIPRNET & JWICS) to maintain control of classified material in a complex security environment.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED:
Position is designated special-sensitive and required eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
