Duties
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), Office of Offshore Regulatory Programs (OORP), Organizational Development and Support (ODS) in Sterling, Virginia.
At the full performance level (GS-12) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
1) The incumbent functions as the scheduling manager and executive assistant directly for the Office Chief, a Senior Executive, and Deputy Chief, from within the OORP Organizational Development and Support Staff.
2) Maintains the calendar for the Chief and Deputy Chief and schedules appointments and briefings based on personal knowledge of the workload and priorities.
3) Makes reservations and drafts travel authorizations. Refines schedules and arrangements to meet the Chief's needs.
4) Compiles and prepares schedules, background information, briefing materials, and other information for the Chief and Deputy Chief daily.
5) Conducts records management activities for OORP Organizational Development and Support in coordination with the records manager. Archives materials as needed.
6) Keeps the OORP Chief, Deputy Chief informed of day-to-day activities, commitments, issues, and priorities.
7) Operates Department personnel and payroll systems.
BSEE has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
Salary Range Information: First time hires to the federal government typically start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level.
GS-11: $78,592 - $102,166 per annum
GS-12: $94,199 - $122,459 per annum

To qualify for this position you must meet the Specialized Experience for the series/grade to which you are applying.
Specialized Experience
GS-11 Specialized Experience:
A. Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-11, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience:1) using MS Office tools for planning, organizing and memorializing data; 2) planning and scheduling support for Senior Executive Level managers; AND 3) prioritizing, multi-tasking, and organization of various projects. MUST MEET ALL.

B. Education: Possession of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED);

C. Combination: A combination of specialized experience and education that totals 100% of the requirement. Combination of graduate level education beyond the first two years of progressive graduate study and appropriate experience that together meet the qualification requirements for this position. A. Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-12 level, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: 1) using MS Office tools for planning, organizing and memorializing data; 2) planning and scheduling support for Senior Executive Level managers; 3) prioritizing, multi-tasking, and organization of various projects; AND 4) managing correspondence and action documents for leadership review and/or signature consistent with agency policy.
