About the Position: Fort Drum, the home of the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), is located in Northern New York, a historically unique and geographically beautiful area, offering bountiful outdoor recreational opportunities from hunting and fishing to winter sports of all types. Fort Drum is approximately 30 miles from Canada, with the Great Lakes to the west, the Adirondack Mountains to the east, and the St. Lawrence River and Thousand Islands in between.
Duties
Incumbent serves as Administrative Officer responsible for providing administrative management services essential to the direction and operation of the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security (DPTMS).
Plans, manages, and coordinates the execution of the annual budget and multiyear budget forecasts.
Provides guidance to managers on civilian personnel matters and oversees staff with regard to all personnel actions, approving or requesting approval in accordance with action being taken and policy/regulation.
Plans regular work assignments, prepares plans to meet substantial changes in workload; justifies revisions in staffing levels, work priorities, and deadlines.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The duties of this position require a secret clearance.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1.) Assisting with the management of an organization's annual budget plan; 2.) Providing administrative advice and guidance to an organization; 3.) Developing administrative methods, policies, and procedures changes within the organization to improve processes; 4.) Distributing administrative work assignments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
