As a Scientific Program Analyst you will participate in the planning, organization, and execution of activities that support the scientific research and administrative activities of the Division and NCCIH. The Scientific Program Analyst will collaborate with other staff in planning, developing, and performing analyses to isolate, define, and develop methods to resolve problems affecting the accomplishment of NCCIH program goals and objectives.
Duties
Participate in the development of program announcements, requests for applications, and requests for proposals in areas of research.
Engage in targeted outreach activities to promote funding opportunities.
Monitor the status of project applications and awards from peer review through post-award administration and produces documents.
Coordinate with investigators, institutions, organizations and other government agencies engaged in assigned research activities and related fields and provides administrative assistance.
Assist in drafting of technical reports, analyzing data from the studies, and publication of research findings.
Conduct literature searches on relevant scientific areas.
Requirements

Qualifications
You qualify at the GS-11 level, if you meet both of the following qualification requirements:
Education Requirement: In order to qualify for a Scientific Program Analyst, GS-0601 position, you must possess a Bachelor's degree, or graduate/higher level degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of this position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
In addition, in order to qualify for a Scientific Program Analyst, 0601 at the GS-11 level, you must have:
A. completed 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or, have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field; OR
B. at least 1 year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: participate in the planning, organization, and execution of activities that support scientific research and administrative activities; monitor the status of project applications and awards from peer review through post-award administration; assist in drafting technical reports, analyzing data from research studies, and publishing research findings; assist staff with various grants-related administrative activities, and prepare funding plans. OR
C. a combination of graduate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position.
