About the Position: This is a permanent position with the 2nd Battalion at Fort Hamilton, New York.
Conduct aptitude and qualification examinations at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) and Military Entrance Test (MET) sites for the applicants of the various Armed Services.
Duties
Score examinations.
Answer applicant questions and inquiries.
Explain testing procedures.
Perform data entry of results.
Conduct examinations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to have a valid driver's license.
- Work schedule is 10:30-7:00pm, Monday-Thursday and 7:30am-4:00pm Friday. Occasional weekend work may be required.
- Local travel and occasional TDY may be required.
- Will be required to conduct test sessions at remote sites, to include administration of high school tests at inner city, rural, and/or at risk schools with large populations (greater than 100 students).

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves conducting aptitude and qualification examinations; briefing applicants; distributing and proctoring examinations; scoring examinations and entering information into data systems; and performing quality control of testing. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks may not be promoted more than 2 grades within the preceding 52 weeks.
