The primary purpose of this position is to Serve as the focal point for in and out processing system for civilian, military, and contractor personnel. Works with various functional managers to ensure requirements are captured and organizational needs are being met.

Duties

DU-0326-03: Office Automation Assistant Manages the Sponsorship program for new employees onboarding, coordinating with hiring managers to ensure employees are connected to a sponsor who will walk them through their first days on the job. Responsible for providing administrative support to for military and civilian human resources functional areas, such as training, staffing, manpower, performance management, awards and recognition. Uses varied functions of multiple office automation software to produce a wide range of documents, formats, etc. Utilizes specialized database software such as the Learning Management System, CHRIS, Business Intelligence, RMIS and SharePoint to create and maintain personnel information. Prints out final products and assembles material for final presentation. Uses MS Outlook or other specified software to maintain current and accurate office calendars. Prepares a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring correspondence, reports, and other documents. Establishes, updates, and maintains office records of various types, and receives telephone calls and greets visitors. Focal point for branch records management, information technology, and timekeeping. Serves as GPC cardholder, authorizing and certifying payments for military and civilian training. Ability to work as a responsible team member; excellent verbal and written communications skills; excellent customer service skills.

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants have, or will have within 120 days of the closing this announcement at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes performing a wide variety of administrative support functions such as utilizing office automation software (word processing, spreadsheet, and databases) for reporting and communicating info; retrieving, manipulating, and sorting electronic data; preparing, editing and formatting of complex documents and reports; files management; and customer support/telephone coverage. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-­grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06/DU-02 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07/DU-03 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
