This position is part of the Office of the Secretary, Interior Business Center (IBC), Human Resources Directorate (HRD), Debt Management Branch. This position is responsible for performing clerical tasks associated with receiving, recording, distributing, data entry, and filing documents for the assigned organization.
The selectee must physically report to the duty station. This is not a 100% remote position.
Duties
Receives, process, and distributes incoming mail and faxes.
Completes wage verification forms in response to requests from county, state, and federal agencies.
Conducts time keeping responsibilities.
Maintains branch supplies.
Qualifications
You must meet one of the following qualifications:
A. Applicants for the GS-04 grade level must possess one year of general experience. General experience is defined as progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
OR
B. Substitution of Education: Applicants may substitute two years {60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours) of college study from an accredited college or university; or may qualify based on an equivalent combination of general experience and education. (For Example: six months of general experience and 30 semester hours of 45 quarter hours of college study). (Note: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application package. If selected, you must provide a copy of your official transcripts).
OR
C. Applicants may have a combination of experience and education as defined about which equals 100%. For example, have 6 months of experience and 1 year of education above the high school level. (Note: Applicants who select this response must provide transcripts as verification of their education).
Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.
A written test is not required.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education: One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.
